Public Works
Task Force Description
The Public Works committee is focused on the infrastructure that help cities and counties do more while still respecting hardworking taxpayers. Whether it’s sidewalks, roads, sewers or drinking water, local government can always find new ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of public works.
In communities across the nation, public works departments often make decisions that are in the best interest of government, rather than the taxpayers. The Public Works committee discusses issues that may arise in working with public works departments and how to create working relationships to help them consider a different perspective.
There are many considerations to take into account when taking on large local projects. A good working relationship with public works staff, the private sector and individual taxpayers, make infrastructure planning much easier. The public works committee is dedicated to helping all its members develop leadership skills and share best practices in public works rooted in free market & limited government principles.
