Finance

Task Force Description

The highest responsibility of every local government is the annual budget. Finance committee members value fiscal responsibility and real accountability to hardworking taxpayers and the money they contribute to government. The committee works diligently to develop best practices on low taxation and spending priorities.

Many times the needs of local government trump the needs of the individual taxpayer. Changing this perspective means there needs to be a paradigm shift in the way local governments think about finances. Local elected officials should look for ways to save taxpayer money and strive to become debt free.

The formula of low tax and debt free policies, will necessarily result in a stronger local economy when taxpayers have more money to spend. These principles work on the federal, state and local level, and are embraced by the ACCE Finance Committee.
